The international DISIRE project, co-created by scientists from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, has been included in the list of 1,000 modern technologies changing the world. The list is created by the Solar Impulse Foundation organization, awarding efficient and cost-effective solutions that have a positive impact on the environment and quality of life.

Researchers from the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology together with KGHM Polska Miedź as an industrial partner were implementing one of the four topics of the project DISIRE dealing with the application of the “smart” output stream technology.

The researchers used intelligent sensors – RFID tags, so-called pellets. They recorded in them information on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the extracted ore, and then placed them in this raw material. The mineral was transported with the sensors to the ore enrichment plant, but earlier the appropriate measuring devices could read information about its composition.
