Soon student papers to be checked by the anti-plagiarism system

08.04.2021

The Ministry of Education and Science wants to tighten the rules for checking papers in the nationwide uniform anti-plagiarism system (JSA). Currently, all written diploma theses (bachelor’s, engineer’s and master’s) and doctoral dissertations are checked by this system.

Meanwhile, as Dziennik Gazeta Prawna informs, not only diploma and doctoral dissertations, but also final theses will be checked in anti-plagiarism systems. Scientific publications will also be put under tougher control and the new system will be more effective at catching plagiarism.

Experts from the Information Processing Center – National Research Institute (OPI PIB) are working on new anti-plagiarism solutions. It is not only about extending the monitoring of works through the anti-plagiarism system, but also about increasing its effectiveness.

In the opinion of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, after the changes, the system will scan not only texts of theses submitted by students or doctoral students, but millions of semester papers. The same will be done with research papers written by PhD students.
