Łukasz Fedorowicz, a student of the Faculty of Construction and Architecture of the Opole University of Technology, is a member of the Polish technical expedition that continues the modernization of the H. Arctowski Antarctic station of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

After a 40-day cruise, the members of the team for over a week conducted a complicated unloading operation of the equipment necessary to modernize the station. According to the plan, they will construct a new station building, expand a lighthouse, a garage for floating equipment, a garage hall and a helipad.

The Polish Antarctic station is a year-long scientific and research unit managed by the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The station is located in the Southern Hemisphere on King George Island (the South Shetland Islands), off the coast of Admiralty Bay. The station is located more than 14 thousand km from Poland.
