26.08.2020

“The Social Language”, a project of students and graduates of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology – won an honorary mention in the RE-Stock London Housing Competition. The organizers were looking for smart concepts for the development of selected London buildings for affordable housing.

The organizers of the competition – Bee Breeders platform and Bartlett School of Architecture – expected projects that could help mitigate the effects of the housing crisis in the British capital. The idea of a group of students and graduates is the revitalization of the Robin Hood Gardens complex in east London – a municipal estate built in the 1970s.

The way to improve the quality of life in municipal housing estates is to include “Humanization” and the revival of their space. The concept of a group from the University of Technology assumes the development of the so-called no-man places and creating zones to integrate residents and stimulate them to get involved.
