The Medical University of Wrocław provided support to young people from Ukraine who took the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). The NMT is a matriculation exam, which was taken within the walls of the Wroclaw university by more than 100 students from across the eastern border.

The war in Ukraine has meant that the traditional baccalaureate, the so-called Independent External Test (IET), has been replaced by the NMT – an exam that students forced to leave the country can take at their current place of residence. According to data from the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, around 25,000 Ukrainian eleventh-graders took the NMT outside their homeland last year.

In response to an appeal from the Polish Ministry of Education and Science, both last year and this year the Medical University of Wrocław supported the organisation of the exam. During two days, on 17 and 19 July, 113 Ukrainian graduates took the final exam.
