Members of the “Concrete” Scientific Circle from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology designed and constructed a concrete canoe, which will take part in the next edition of the university rowing competition BetonKanoRace in the Netherlands.
17 students from European universities will compete in races of self-designed and constructed concrete canoes in Eindhoven. During the competition, participants must demonstrate not only engineering knowledge of technology, but also physical strength and imagination. Double, male, female and mixed teams will race on distances of 100, 200 and 400 meters.
The team from the “Concrete” scientific club is starting for the seventh time in the BetonKanoRace regatta. In the two previous competitions young engineers from the Silesian University of Technology won the “most creative project” category. This year they will row in the “President’s Fists” concrete canoe designed and constructed by them.
