Students of the Silesian University of Technology associated in the “High Flyers” scientific circle will take part in the UAV Challenge Medical Express competition in Australia. The purpose of the competition is to demonstrate the usefulness of unmanned aircraft in civil applications, in particular where they can save human life.
The competition organized by the University of Queensland and the Australian Institute for Research and Development provides the design and construction of an unmanned aircraft that should perform an exploration and rescue mission in the Australian outback. An autonomous drone must find a sick man cut off from the world, land without a runway, take a blood sample, take off and deliver a sample to the laboratory for further medical analysis.
The construction of the students of the University is a plane of vertical take off and landing HF-10 VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) – a hybrid unmanned platform combining the advantages of a classic quadracopter and a plane.
