An agreement was signed at the Pomeranian Medical University (PUM) Clinical Hospital in Szczecin to transfer the rights to the StrabiScan technology – an invention by PUM scientists that will improve the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus. The rights buyer, CX Engineering, is to realise the project and bring it to life.

The StrabiScan technology enables the automated and detailed measurement of strabismus angles in different eyeball settings, using virtual stereoscopic projection techniques and eye movement analysis using a calibrated optical system and cameras. The device replaces the unilateral and alternating ‘cover the eye’ test (‘cover test’) previously used in ophthalmic and orthoptic surgeries, using prism bars.

Further development of this technology is planned in a consortium of the Pomeranian Medical University and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, with CX Engineering as project leader.
