The Capital of Polish Language Festival

From August 7 to 13th of August, The Festival: Capital of Polish Language will be held in Zamość and Szczebrzeszyn. The partner of the language of this event is the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin.

During this year’s competition, for the first time, the participants of the Festival will learn about the language. The lectures will be conducted by eminent linguists from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. In addition, from 8 to 13 August from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. the #przystanek UMCS stand will be available – a spot where scientists, students and artists will conduct workshops, lectures, shows and competitions every day.

During the event, members of the UMCS Student Journalism Club and the UMCS Media and Pop Culture Club “Produktywni” UMCS will organize language and pop culture competitions, members of the UMCS Speech Therapists and Audiologists Club will carry out screening tests, Dr Ewelina Duda-Staworko from the Department of Economic and Commercial Law of UMCS will tell participants how use other people’s words on the Internet in accordance with the law, and the UMCS Postgraduate Studies Team will present an educational offer.
