The main objective of the forum was to strengthen existing cooperation and find new areas of collaboration at the interface between science and business in the field of aviation and space research. Participants discussed the modernisation of the Polish aerospace sector and safety in Europe.

During the Italian-Polish Forum, Andrzej Dybczynski, President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, emphasised that “at Łukasiewicz we do not create science just for science, we create science for business”.

An important participant in the Forum was the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation (ILOT). During a panel with Paweł Stężycki, Director of the Institute of Aviation, he discussed how cooperation between Poland and Italy in various fields can contribute to the modernisation and strengthening of the Polish armed forces.

The director emphasised the need to develop products and technologies based on industry in Poland. As an example of good cooperation, he pointed to the long-standing global Łukasiewicz – ILOT ties based on activity within EREA – Association of European Research Establishment in Aeronautics, IFAR – International Forum For Aviation Research, ASD – Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe and very good contacts with Italian companies and research institutes.
