Two new research centers to be created in Warsaw

BRAINCITY Center of Excellence in Neuroplasticity and Brain Diseases and the CENTERA Center for Research and Application of Terahertz Technologies will be two new research centers in Warsaw. The Foundation for Polish Science will allocate 73 million PLN for their creation.

The first center will be created at the Institute of Experimental Biology and the second at the Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. New scientific institutions will be financed thanks to funds granted in the recently announced call in the program International Research Agendas of the Foundation for Polish Science.

BRAINCITY will investigate the complex mechanisms of plasticity of the human brain, while CENTERA will investigate terahertz radiation, which can have a range of applications in communication, industry, agriculture and trade. The project foreign partners are Goethe University in Frankfurt and CNRS- Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology in Lille,
