Students from Poznań University of Technology won an award in the Modular Home Design Challenge 2021 competition organized by the Bee Breeders platform. The jury appreciated the universal modular house Modewood designed by students of the Faculty of Architecture.
The competition task was to design a modular house that could be built in any form and layout, placing it in a selected place: rural, urban or suburban areas. The jury searched for design concepts that would show a critical analysis of home role and can be tailored to a modern world, increasingly driven by technology.
Modewood consists of four modules that can comfortably accommodate a family of three. It is self-sufficient – photovoltaics integrated with buildings, generates electricity, stored in batteries. The house provides drinking water, and the water collection system is placed in a tank under the roof.
