Wrocław is launching the social campaign “Consent is the gift of life. This is how I want to be a donor’, which aims to raise awareness among residents about the importance of consent for transplantation. The partner of the campaign is the University Clinical Hospital (USK), the most dynamically developing transplant centre in Poland.

“Life is a gift for man, this we know not from today. A conscious decision that contributes to saving or prolonging the life of another human being is a double gift. It is priceless. That is why I am delighted that in Wrocław we are launching such a socially important campaign. We will encourage, educate and convince people that even after our death we can save another human being. The city will always be in favour of this. It will actively support this type of project”, says Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wrocław.

For the second year in a row, the USK has performed the highest number of adult heart transplants in Poland. As of 2021, 130 hearts have been transplanted at the hospital.
