University of Life Sciences in Poznań joins the project of building innovative agricultural biogas plants

The University of Life Sciences in Poznań is one of institutions signed the letter of intent assuming the possibility of building 20 agricultural biogas plants based on innovative Polish technology, which allow for the management of substrates from farms and their conversion into electricity and biomethane.

The signatories of the document include Poznan university in Poznań , company Orlen Południe, H. Cegielski Poznań factory and the National Center for Agricultural Support. The letter concerns the construction of biogas plants in 20 largest Polish farms, which are part of the resources of the National Center for Agricultural Support.

The Orlen Południe company would be the main investor in the project. The company is consistently transformed into a modern biorefinery, implementing ecological investments. The first installation in Poland is the largest one in Europe and it allows to produce green propylene glycol in Trzebinia, as well as a pilot installation for the production of lactic acid using microorganisms.
