The University of Rzeszów (URz), represented by Professor Sylwester Czopek, Rector of URz, signed an agreement with the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA) represented by Gudrun Hardiman-Pollross BSc MA, Minister Plenipotentiary for Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Warsaw, Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, on the continued operation of the Austrian Library in Rzeszów.

The Austrian Library in Rzeszów is not only a place of collecting and storing books and other publications on Austria, but also a centre of Austrian culture accessible to the whole local community, where numerous events addressed to schools, students and working people have been held for nine years: cultural and language workshops, competitions, lectures, meetings with Austrian writers.

It is also a place that promotes awareness of Galician cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue.

The Austrian Library is part of the University of Rzeszow Library.
