Scientists of the University of Silesia in Katowice have developed and patented a system that allows to analyze the level of fencers’ training. The designed system can be used to assess the fencer’s fitness and their predisposition to practice this sport.

One player of the Academic Sports Association of Katowice’s Academy of Physical Education participated in the research. The invention measures, the player’s reaction time to the tasks programmed by the coach, and allows to analyze the level of his concentration. These parameters are stored in the device memory.

The system does not require modification of the sword and a thrust is scored in the same way as in fencing competitions. The device allows to pre-program a training plan and record data. Based on the results obtained, the trainers will be able to modify the training programs in order to accelerate the process of achieving the appropriate form by the pupils.
