The technology company ABB is opening a Center for Functional Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Processes (CEFUMA) with the Krakow University of Technology (PK). The joint PK and ABB laboratory is equipped with unique in Poland test stands for the development, processing and testing of modern functional materials.

As part of the signed cooperation agreement, ABB will also support the studies conducted at PK: Materials Engineering and Infotronics.

According to the University of Krakow, the new center will be used by ABB research workers as well as scientists and students of the PK to conduct joint research and development projects, as well as teaching design and laboratory classes. Lecturers and students of  PK and ABB scientists will be able to jointly develop innovative technologies, including solutions for the material, production, electrotechnical, electrical, energy and industrial automation industries.
