University of Toruń Library joins the project eBooks-On-Demand-Network Opening Publications for European Netizens

15.06.2020

The University Library in Toruń, as the only partner from Poland, together with 14 universities and cultural institutions from 11 European countries, is implementing the eBooks-On-Demand-Network Opening Publications for European Netizens project as part of the Creative Europe program.

One of the tasks of the project is to determine the legal status, digitalize and make available on the dedicated portal 15,000 literary works published in the 20th and 21st centuries, not digitally available until now. An important aspect is that the selection of works for dissemination is made not only by librarians, but by anybody who can participate in the selection process by sending their suggestions.

The task of librarians will be to determine the legal status of the work, which may involve, for example, the need to obtain rights from the author or publisher, and carry out the digitization process ended with dissemination the works first at the local Kujawsko-Pomorskie Digital Library, and then on an international portal.
