University of Warsaw researching the use of social media by Polish libraries during the pandemic

An article by Dr Grzegorz Gmiterek, Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies of the University of Warsaw (UW) on the use of social media by Polish libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic was published in the prestigious journal “The Journal of Academic Librarianship”.

According to research carried out by a scientist of the University of Warsaw, social networking sites are an important element for communication and cooperation between libraries and users.

In the article “Polish university libraries social networking services during the COVID-19 pandemic spring term lockdown”, Dr Gmiterek analyzes the use of social networking sites as a platform for user communication and collaboration with university libraries that are part of public universities in Poland.

The publication contains information on the most frequently used tools, the most active libraries and differences in the use of social media by individual institutions.
