The Minister of Health, the President of the Medical Research Agency and the Rector of the University of Warsaw have signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation in the field of disseminating the idea of humanism in medicine.
The basis for signing the letter is the need to undertake interdisciplinary cooperation aimed at promoting the idea of humanism in medical sciences, with particular emphasis on the manner of providing health care services, respecting patient’s rights and conducting clinical trials, with the primary goal of improving the quality and extending the patient’s life.
As part of the accepted declaration, the Medical Research Agency, commissioned by the Minister of Health, will conduct scientific research aimed at assessing the level of humanization of medicine in the field of medical professions, therapeutic teams, with particular emphasis on the patient-doctor relationship, as well as the assessment of the impact of the epidemic threat and the pandemic itself related to such relations.
