University of Warsaw (UW) has launched a new spin-off company Inelco, which specializes in the production of innovative protective coatings made of metal alloys produced in an environmentally safe way.
Inelco spin-off company was founded by Dr Paweł Bącal from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. The university company creates environmentally safe and cheaper to produce protective coatings using electrochemical methods. Scientists have new materials and alloys that have decorative, anti-corrosive or structural qualities.
The company’s main product are currently nickel, copper and tungsten alloys. Research of Dr Bącal led to the discovery of a previously unknown alloy of this metal and opened new perspectives for creating such materials. Thanks to this, Inelco managed to develop a technology to replace harmful chromium. Dr Bącal also conducted advanced research on alloys that have the potential to be used in fuel cells.
