The bird shelter at the University Botanical Garden of the University of Zielona Góra will be expanded. Thanks to a PLN 500 000 investment, the Bird Asylum, where the lives and health of many wild birds have been saved over the past few years, will have a new face.

The Bird Asylum in Zielona Góra has been operating since 2016. During this time, it has helped hundreds of winged patients, and its employees have undertaken more than one and a half thousand interventions. Money for the expansion of the facility was found thanks to the cooperation of the university, the city council, the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Zielona Góra and the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

The expansion will include new containers, aviaries and media connections. One element of the new complex will be a Bird Window of Life. After working hours, when the Asylum staff will not be on site, anyone who finds a bird in need will be able to leave it there and notify the shelter by phone.
