The list of 15 books nominated in the Wise Book of the Year 2022 competition for the best popular science book of the year has been announced. The list includes books for both adults and the youngest readers. The initiative is organised by the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow and the Wise Books portal; the competition’s partner is the Copernicus Festival.

The eighth Wise Book of the Year competition has been launched. The list of nominations includes Polish-language books as well as translations from the US, UK and Spain. In May, the list of statuette winners for the best popular science books published in Poland in 2022 will be announced.

The Wise Book of the Year is an expert competition that has been taking place since 2016 and provides support and guidance for readers looking for valuable reading. A group of experts associated with various academic centres operating across the country selects the most interesting and valuable ones from hundreds of titles.

This year’s competition will select the winning books in several categories: book of the year for adults, book of the year for children and best book in the opinion of the academic community at the Jagiellonian University.
