Wrocław University of Science and Technology to conduct VR training for railway and airport employees

18.08.2020

Scientists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the SimFactor company, will carry out projects on the use of virtual reality by train railway staff and security control operators at the airport. They received grants for their research from the National Center for Research and Development.

The first project “Development of an innovative training and training station for the airport security control operator” will allow to determine what affects the effectiveness of the interpretation of images from the X-ray device and what factors will allow the assessment whether a passenger is trying to hide prohibited items.

The second project is “Immersive training system for railway personnel using virtual reality technology”. Scientists will create a platform allowing train workers of various positions to be trained in responding to dangers in standard situations and in the case of increased work intensity.
