Wrocław University of Science and Technology to grant the Stanisław Lem Award

Wrocław University of Science and Technology will grant the Stanisław Lem Award. It will be awarded to a young scientist whose research has the potential to positively influence the future of civilization.

European Scientific Stanisław Lem Award was established to commemorate the 100th birthday of the outstanding Polish novelist, who in 1981 received an honorary doctorate from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The Award laureate will be selected by the jury composed of outstanding scientists from abroad and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Tomasz Lem, the writer’s son.

Prize in the amount of 100 thousand PLN will be awarded to a scientist up to 40 years of age, studying or conducting research in the European Union or associated countries participating in the Horizon Europe program. It will be awarded for recent discovery or significant achievement in science and engineering, with strong elements of technology, interdisciplinarity, creativity and vision.
