Researchers from the Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology will investigate the possibilities of limiting hate speech online. They obtained almost PLN 1.4 million from the National Science Center for their research with the use of artificial intelligence.

Researchers are planning to develop and test new models of deep machine learning, and to obtain relevant data sets previously unavailable in the world. They will cooperate with foreign centers – University of Notre Dame (USA), University of California Los Angeles (UCLA, USA) and University of Wolverhampton (UK).

The new solution can be implemented for all subjective phenomena in which differences in perception between people are natural, e.g. assessment of offensiveness, toxicity, aggression, personal attack, hate speech, supportive and persuasive speech, sense of humor, sarcasm and irony, slander, unsavory questions and anticipation of various emotions evoked by textual content.
