XII Polish Philosophical Congress to be held in Łódź

On 11-16 September 2023 – on the 100th anniversary of the First Polish Philosophical Congress organised in 1923 at the Jan Kazimierz University in Lwów (today’s Lviv) – the XII Polish Philosophical Congress will be held in Łódź. The organisers of the event include University of Łódź, the Polish Philosophical Society and the Committee of Philosophical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The congress will include debates, panel discussions, plenary lectures, symposia and deliberations in over 20 thematic sections. In consultation with the Congress organisers, participants will be able to organise additional colloquia.

The congress will open with an inaugural debate “What should be considered the proper task of philosophy today?”, moderated by Prof. Adam Grobler of the University of Opole.

The special guest of the Convention will be Prof. Paul Guyer of Brown University (USA). The Honorary Committee of the Congress is chaired by the Rector of the University of Łódź, Prof. Elżbieta Żądzińska.
