The University of Life Sciences in Poznań is launching a series of films on YouTube popularising research conducted at the university. The materials were created in collaboration with scientists from all faculties – viewers will find a variety of topics, from agriculture and forestry to economics.
“Within the series, we will show whether it is possible to build houses out of straw, whether forest management can be more ‘eco’, whether plant-based meats can be cooked during May barbecues, and whether beetles can help us get rid of excess plastic”, says the University.
During the summer season, viewers will find out where the fir trees that can be admired during hikes in the Sudetenland came from, about whether it is possible to make ice cream from beetroots and how to prepare ‘zero waste’ fertilisers from field waste.
The filmmakers will also take a look at biodiversity in European cities, look at how to make efficient use of what is left over after the maize harvest and show a unique way of heating greenhouse tomatoes and strawberries.
