The Faculty of Philology of the University of Opole is inviting participants to the national scientific conference, which will be held on 8 and 9 October, “Fashion in the Mirror of Culture. LANGUAGE – LITERATURE – CULTURE”. The conference is addressed to scholars, PhD students, graduates of higher education and students.

The organizers of the event are proposing a twofold understanding of fashion – both in the context of the importance of fashion and changes in clothing, as well as in the identity and subject perspective. They are planning a multi-directional approach to the subject engaging researchers from various fields of the humanities – literary scholars, linguists, and cultural studies.

The two-day meeting will also be devoted to considerations in the context of discourses on fashion in literature, film, theater, visual arts, popular culture, media, as well as in the field of aesthetics, fashion studies and performance.
