Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan assessed as a research university with an increased research subsidy

The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is one of 10 universities that were granted the status of a research university. 20 academic centers took part in the “Initiative of Excellence – Research University” competition, but only 10 of them received the subsidy.

-This decision confirms that the University of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań belongs to the largest and best universities in our country. Our excellent academic staff has always been our strength. As a research university with more resources, we will be able to link education more closely with research conducted by our scientists. I hope that this perspective will attract talented, young people who want to do scientific work – says the rector of the University, prof. Andrzej Lesicki.

Thanks to the new  status, in the years 2020-2026 the university will receive a subsidy increased by 10%. This additional amount may bring over PLN 50 million per year.
