Collegium Civitas in Warsaw has joined the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), an initiative of the European University Association (EUA).

During the CoARA Constituent Assembly initiating the coalition’s activities, in early December 2022, Collegium Civitas will be represented by Dr Katarzyna Iwińska, Vice-Rector for Research.

According to Collegium Civitas, the agreement sets a common direction for changes in research evaluation practices, researchers and research-performing organisations, with the overarching goal of maximising the quality and impact of research. The agreement includes principles, commitments and timelines for reform, and sets out principles for collaboration in implementing change.

The process of creating the Research Assessment Reform Agreement was launched in January 2022 and involved more than 350 organisations from 40 countries. The Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Economics in Wrocław are among the Polish research institutions that have signed the agreement so far.
