The establishment of the Technology Transfer Center is one of the most important tasks planned in the project to be implemented by the Gdynia Maritime University from September 2020 in a consortium with the Silesian University of Technology.

The aim of the project is to promote academic inventiveness, intellectual property management, protection of intellectual property of university employees, support for the management of research and development results and their commercialization. The activities will be financed from the funds of the Intelligent Development Operational Program 2014-2020 under the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Incubator of Innovation 4.0”.

The project also includes a number of other tasks aimed at strengthening research activity focused on practical solutions, implemented by through internal competitions for “micro-grants” for research teams.
