01.08.2019

The GlucoActive startup, founded by the graduates of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, has developed a device for non-invasive testing of the blood glucose level. It is supposed to help first of all diabetics, but it will also be available to people who are on a diet and athletes.

The aim of the startup operating in Wroclaw is to develop a solution that will allow to test the level of glucose in the blood without the need to puncture the skin. The designed device in the shape of a watch is comfortable and easy to use. The measurement will be carried out using optical and spectrophotometric methods. The developed method assumes switching the skin several times with light of a specific wavelength, and then analyzing the obtained results.

Even before the end of this year, the founders of the startup want to conduct official medical experiments to confirm the results of their research. The device is expected to hit the market as a sports gadget in mid-2020.
