The Kastel company, operating in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, has created innovative overlays on the handles, which will limit hand contact with the handle that will allow to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Handles that are touched by hundreds of people in public places are very dangerous during the coronavirus pandemic. The handle patented by a startup from Gdynia allows to open the door with a forearm without using a palm. It can be installed on practically all types of handles, including external handles that are used most frequently.

The handle is made of polyamide with an admixture of glass fiber by injection method. Contrary to similar 3D-printed solutions, the injection technology is more durable, allows for faster production of handles in larger quantities and in various colors, and polyamide is a material with very high mechanical strength.
