Jagiellonian University to hold conference “European cities in the process of shaping and transferring European cultural heritage”

The Department of Politics and Culture of the Mediterranean Countries of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow is organizing on May 6, 2021 the scientific conference “European cities in the process of shaping and transferring European cultural heritage”.

The conference will be devoted to the issues of shaping and transferring the cultural heritage of Europe, its multicultural image and international character in selected European cities.

Topics of the conference will include the following issues: Cities as the basis for shaping the sense of social and cultural unity among Europeans and strengthening the European identity and active citizenship; European cultural heritage in shaping the city’s narrative; Common past – common heritage – common future of Europeans; European cities in the face of cultural diffusion and migration processes in Europe; Memory, oblivion and nostalgia in the symbolic space of European cities; The “New European Bauhaus”. European cities and their legacy after the pandemic.
