Scientists of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals will carry out the project “Technology for the recovery of molybdenum and accompanying metals from used molybdenum catalysts”. The research is financed under the Fast Track competition carried out by the National Center for Research and Development for European funds under the Intelligent Development Program.
The aim of the project is to develop and implement technologies for the recovery of molybdenum and associated metals – such as nickel and cobalt – from used molybdenum catalysts in the crude oil hydrotreating process. Molybdenum is a strategic metal, an irreplaceable alloying element in steels and cast irons where it improves strength, hardness and corrosion resistance.
The project will provide an innovative approach to the issue of used molybdenum catalysts Poland, a new source of income and strengthening the company’s position in the recycling and metallurgy industry.
