Polish Academy of Sciences to hold a scientific conference “Understanding the demographic change”

The Demographic Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN)  is inviting the participants to the scientific conference “Understanding demographic change”, which will be held on June 13-14 in Warsaw. The meeting will be devoted to the deep demographic changes in Poland that took place after 1989 against the background of demographic trends in Europe.

The discussion on fertility and changes in the family, health and mortality, internal and foreign migrations and the accompanying transformations of population structures will be conducted in an interdisciplinary approach.

The aim of the conference is to provide knowledge about the transformations in demographic processes. The guest of honor at the event will be Dubravka Šuica, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Democracy and Demography. Polish researchers and leading representatives of the demographic community in Europe were invited to the discussion.
