The Polish Archaeological Institute in Athens has already obtained its seat. The notary agreement for the purchase of the premises for the office of the Institute was signed by the rector of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Prof. Andrzej Lesicki.
The premises of about 120 square meter is located in Athens on Str. Dionisiou Eginitou 7. It was purchased from Canadian archaeologists and had so far served as the headquarters of the Canadian Archaeological Institute in Athens. The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is the first Polish institution in history to launch its own field research project in Greece
In terms of organization, the Institute is a unit of the Poznań university. The purchase of the seat finishes the long period of its creation. Thus, the University has fulfilled its obligations to create a seat in Athens representing the interests of all Polish researchers in Greece, in particular archaeologists.
