Prof. Eng. Krzysztof Wojciechowski from the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow has become the next winner of the Weave-UNISONO competition (2022). In cooperation with partners from Germany, the scientist will conduct research into thermoelectric materials for potential use in the energy sector. The project has received funding of more than PLN 2.3 million.

Professor Krzysztof Wojciechowski, who heads the Thermoelectric Research Laboratory at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics at AGH University of Science and Technology, points out that global climate change, environmental pollution and rising energy costs are among the most important problems facing modern societies.

In the project, he and his German partners will work on solutions to ensure more efficient electricity production. The researchers will focus on thermoelectric energy conversion (TE), which still needs to be developed in detail to enable cheaper mass production of devices using this technology in the future.
