Dr Eng. arch. Karolina Chodura was awarded the prize of the General Monuments Conservator and the Main Board of the Association of Monuments Conservators. Her doctoral thesis on Jewish necropolises in the Silesian Voivodeship was recognised.

The thesis was the result of the ‘Diamond Grant’ project carried out at the Silesian University of Technology under the scientific supervision of Professor Magdalena Żmudzińska-Nowak. The winner is the only beneficiary of the ‘Diamond Grant’ in the discipline ‘Architecture and Urban Planning’ in the competition’s long history.

“Her doctoral thesis was defended with distinction in February this year before the Discipline Council of the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology. The reviewers of the thesis were: Dr Eng. arch. Jadwiga Urbanik, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and Dr Eng. arch. Beata Makowska, Prof. of the Kraków University of Technology. Both reviews concluded that the thesis should be honoured”, says Prof. Żmudzińska-Nowak.
