Dr Barbara Pabian, Prof. University of Economics in Katowice received the City of Czestochowa Award in the field of Culture for 2018 in the category of “literature and history”. The award was given for the overall research and popularizing activity in the history of the city and the Częstochowa region.

Barbara Pabian is a PhD holder in literary and cultural studies, professor of the University of Economics in the Department of Marketing Management and Tourism. She has published 65 scientific papers, including two books on the cultural heritage of the Częstochowa region. She conducts field research describing and popularizing cultural phenomena that testify the uniqueness, regional specificity and the cultural identity of Czestochowa’s inhabitants.

Prizes of the City of Częstochowa are awarded for special achievements in five categories: literature and history, theater and film, music and dance, fine arts, and promotion and protection of culture.
