Dr Eng. Bipin Indurkhya from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University received a grant in a competition for joint research projects between Poland and Austria. The goal of the awarded venture is to create a robotic system that will recognize the task on the basis of a demonstration and be able to explain it verbally, using gestures and visualizations. The task will be implemented in cooperation with the Technical University of Vienna.
The submitted project is a response to the inability to program robots for all possible tasks in any environment. Thus, robots must be able to learn new tasks in environments where new, previously unseen, objects may appear.
The organizers of the competition for joint research projects between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Austria is the National Agency for Academic Exchange and the Österreichs Agentur für Bildung und Internationalisierung. Its aim is to support the mobility of scientists carrying out research projects that are agreed and conducted jointly by eligible applicants from Poland and partners from Austria.
