Researchers of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń exploring the medieval port of Puck

11.01.2019

Researchers from the Department of Underwater Archeology of the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń are investigating the remains of the early medieval port in Puck. Their work is carried out as part of the European Virtual Arch project „Visualize to Valorize” financed from the Interreg Central Europe program.

Apart from the University of Toruń and the City Hall in Puck, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia and Germany take part in the project. The undertaking assumes the popularization and dissemination of knowledge about the archaeological heritage.
The implementation of this goal is based on the use of virtual and augmented reality methods, which are increasingly popular tools for the presentation of unreachable spaces, including the remains of past landscapes and archaeological sites.
