Prof. Jerzy Zajadło, University of Gdańsk became the laureate of this year’s Prof. Tadeusz Kotarbiński’s Award. The award for the best humanities book in Poland was granted to the book “Minima luridica. Reflections on certain (in) legal obviousness”.
– When considering the contemporary meaning of Roman paremiae, Jerzy Zajadło refers to the achievements of the philosophy of law, the practice of creating and applying law, as well as relationship between ethics, law and the science of law. He researches such ethical concept of the science of law, which defends itself against “political instrumentalization”.
The nationwide competition for the Kotarbiński’s Award has been conducted at the University of Lodz. It reminds about the importance of research and publications in the humanities, as well as about the humanities science itself. The prize is awarded by the jury of researchers from leading Polish scientific institutions – including winners of previous competitions.
