Dr Hassan Abdolpour will conduct research in the field of cement composites modified with waste materials at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The scientist is a laureate of the Stanisław Ulam Award, organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
During his stay in Wrocław, the scientist will carry out a project related to the recycling of steel fibers and used equilibrium catalyst, which is waste from refining processes in the processing of crude oil, as a partial replacement for cement in ultra-high-performance, environmentally friendly self-compacting mortars.
– The possibility of reusing waste as an additive to self-compacting mortar is a huge advantage, it has not only an ecological, but also an economic meaning – says the scientist.
The Ulam’s Program supports the internationalization of Polish universities and scientific institutions. Its participants will strengthen the potential of Polish scientific organizations.
