Scientist of Wrocław University of Science and Technology becomes a laureate of the competition for the Witold Lipski Award

Dr Michał Koziarski from Wrocław University of Science and Technology has become a laureate of the 18th competition for the Witold Lipski Prize awarded for outstanding achievements in computer science. The scientist from the Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications was awarded in the category of IT applications.

The annual competition is aimed at scientists who are under 35, have Polish citizenship and reside permanently in Poland. Prizes of PLN 50,000 are awarded in two categories – for theoretical aspects of computer science and applications of computer science.

The Witold Lipski Prize was established in 2005 and commemorates the prematurely, at the age of 35 deceased pioneer of Polish computer science. In his short academic career, he wrote a number of important papers in database theory and algorithm analysis. He also published two books ‘Combinatorics for Programmers’ and, together with Wiktor Marek, ‘Combinatorial Analysis’.
