The University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań together with the Poznań University of Life Sciences and the company POLDRONE Sp. z o. o. from Gniezno will create an innovative IT service for the agriculture of the future – SenseCrops. The consortium received a grant from the National Center for Research and Development as part of the “Agrotech” Fast Track competition.
The aim of the scientists is to carry out research and development work on a product that is innovative in Poland – an IT service aimed at optimizing the management of agricultural crop productivity. The total cost of the project is almost PLN 9 million.
SenseCrops is a tool based on artificial intelligence that will indicate the expected yield, the amount of fertilizer needed or the water status at each stage of plant growth (winter wheat, rape, corn), taking into account the division into homogeneous parts of the fields and detailed information on the condition of the soil. The necessary data will be collected by a drone flying over a cultivated field.
