7 master grants for experienced scientists and 38 grants for the creation of a new scientific team will be awarded to researchers working in Polish units. To finance the winning projects in the MAESTRO 15 and SONATA BIS 13 competitions, the National Centre of Science (NCN) will allocate nearly PLN 126.5 million.

The MAESTRO competition is intended for experienced researchers. It supports the implementation of pioneering scientific research, including interdisciplinary research that is important for the development of science, goes beyond the current state of knowledge and may result in scientific discoveries.

In this competition edition, 7 winning projects were selected from among 56 submitted proposals.

In the SONATA BIS competition, scientists can apply for funds for setting up a new research team. This is an opportunity for scientists to become independent in the period from 5 to 12 years after obtaining a doctoral degree.

In the 13th SONATA BIS competition, 38 projects were shortlisted by teams of experts from among 420 submitted applications.
