Scientists of the Opole University of Technology to improve air quality in Ustroń

08.02.2021

The Opole University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the health resort commune of Ustroń. The third partner in the agreement aimed at improving air quality in the commune is the Oddychaj Beskidami foundation.

– I imagine that our cooperation will focus on creating a three-dimensional mathematical model that would show the topography of Ustroń with all obstacles, winds map, and diagnosed heaters. Scientists could help us indicate where it is best to exchange heat sources, so that it brings an effect – says the mayor of Ustroń, Przemysław Korcz.

This is the first form of cooperation between the commune and the university. Ustroń is one of the two health resorts in the Silesian Voivodeship and the issue of clean air is very important for the commune. Over the years, the local government has implemented various clean air programs, now it would like to take work on this problem at a higher level.
