Scientists to examine policemen in Mazovia for the frequency of SARS-CoV-2 infections

06.05.2020

Scientists under the direction of Dr Mariusz Gujski from the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM) will conduct a study on the SARS-CoV-2 infections among policemen in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.

The program has received a positive recommendation from the President of the Medical Research Agency as part of a quick support path for projects aimed at combating COVID-19.

This will be the first epidemiological study in Central and Eastern Europe regarding the SARS-CoV-2 infections in the group particularly vulnerable to virus infections due to the characteristics of their profession. Project implementation will identify the frequency of current and past SARS-CoV-2 infections, especially those with limited or asymptomatic progression.

The study will be carried out by a consortium of the Medical University of Warsaw (leader) with the Postgraduate Medical Center and the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
